Trust In God: The Answer to Fear And the Challenges of Life

Fear is an unpleasant negative reality of life.It confronts both the mighty and the lowly in the face of the numerous challenges that living on planet earth entail. Some overcome fear through willpower, others through the assistance of psychologists who help them to trace the cause of masked fears that lie buried in the soul.Of all known attempts to overcome fear, trust in God is the most reliable and workable answer.

David ,the Psalmist, warrior and King in Israel said; " What time I am afraid,I will trust in thee.In God  I will praise his word,in God have I put my trust,I will not fear what flesh can do to me",(Psalm 56:3,4 King James Version).

The Psalmist expressed his trust in God when he feared for his life as the Phillistines, his enemies, closed in on him.He had no alternative to trusting God in the circumstance and his trust paid off.

The circumstances and challenges of life can be awfully frightening due to things imagined, and nothing feeds the force of fear more than negative imaginations and anticipation of the worst outcome.

Who in the entire universe is completely free from fear ? None, but trust in God is the answer to fear and the challenges of life. From the experience of David it is a known fact that God comes through for those who trust in him.He changes the situation, thus allays the fear.Reversely,he might change the individuals perception of the challenging situation. At other times ,he might choose to defeat the physical enemies of those who trust in him.The case of David is a living example.By the help of God David defeated Goliath.

The antidote to fear is trust in God.Humans are liable to overthrow, are feeble and therefore unable to help themselves.Man is sinful and deserving to be afraid, but there is solution to that( the peace that God gives under a certain condition)

The Book, Isaiah puts it this way : Thou wilt keep him in peace, whose mind is stayed on the because he trusted in there.Trust ye in the Lord forever, for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength"( Isaiah 26:3,4- King James Version).

Fear and trust are mutually exclusive, just as light and darkness cannot exist in the same room. The presence of one excludes the other. It is therefore imperative that every effort be made to trust God by allowing one's thought to dwell on known mighty acts of God in the past.

Though Psalm 56:3 is in the form of a resolve it became a fact in David's life.Whether the fear is from within or without, based on past experience or present reality, or foreboding about the future you need to trust God.If the action of men is the reason for the fear, take a cue from David.Let trust in God be the answer to your fears and the challenges of life.
